A Hudson Valley INCLUSIVE Series

Hudson Valley Inclusive: Trans Allyship 101

An in person community training series

Queer Therapy NYC’s Hudson Valley Inclusive (HVI) series is a grassroots community learning initiative dedicated to building a more connected and informed queer community in the Hudson Valley and beyond. Produced by Queer Therapy NYC and founded by Liam Cudmore, LCSW, HVI offers cozy, in-person workshops and trainings designed to deepen our collective understanding of marginalized identities throughout queer communities and strengthen our ability to show up for one another in meaningful ways…

Rooted in the queer and trans community values of consent, autonomy, mutual aid, processes of becoming, and critical consciousness, HVI is about growing together. In this collective, we move away from shame and performative allyship and toward deeper humility and understanding. We believe that allyship is active and that education is one powerful way to begin. Whether you’re LGBTQIA+ yourself or an ally in progress, HVI invites you to come as you are, with openness, curiosity, and a commitment to learning.

HVI’s flagship series, “Seek to Understand,” brings together small groups for accessible, community-centered education on trans allyship and other intersectional experiences. Sessions are facilitated by LGBTQIA+ community members and clinicians, with future trainings exploring topics such as addiction recovery, disability justice, and intergenerational queerness.

Each event prioritizes:

  • Warmth and Grounding: Held in home-like, welcoming spaces that center comfort, accessibility, and connection
  • Shame-Free Learning: Space for real questions, boundary-setting, and loving corrections
  • Relational Process: Emphasis on presence over performance and listening over fixing
  • Reciprocity and Access: Tiered pricing, service trades, and “pay it forward” options

Together, let’s cultivate a more deeply connected and inclusive Hudson Valley, one conversation at a time.
