Queer Therapy NYC Terms of Service
Effective Date: May 13, 2025
By using the Queer Therapy NYC website, submitting an inquiry, or receiving services from our clinicians, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.
Therapeutic Services
Queer Therapy NYC is a group psychotherapy practice providing services to individuals, couples, families, and relationship constellations. All clinicians operate as employees of the practice and offer therapy following New York State law and other states in which they are licensed, including (where applicable) North Carolina and Florida. Sessions are currently conducted via HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms.
Use of This Website
This website is intended to provide general information about our practice, clinicians, and services. It does not constitute or substitute for therapeutic advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Submitting a contact form or inquiry does not establish a therapeutic relationship.
You agree to use this website following all applicable laws. Any misuse of the site, including attempts to access protected or confidential information, may result in restriction of access and potential legal action.
Client-Clinician Relationship
A therapeutic relationship is only established once you and a clinician have mutually agreed to begin services and have signed the necessary consent forms. Submitting a contact request, scheduling a consultation, or attending a consultation does not constitute the initiation of a therapeutic relationship.
Payment and Fees
All services are fee-for-service unless otherwise agreed upon. Session fees and sliding scale options vary by clinician and will be discussed directly with your provider. Payment is expected at the time of service unless prior arrangements are made. Missed sessions and late cancellations (less than 48 hours’ notice) may be subject to the full session fee.
Confidentiality
All clinicians adhere to legal and ethical guidelines around confidentiality and the protection of client information. Information shared in therapy is confidential, except as required by law (e.g., risk of harm, mandated reporting, court orders).
Technology and Telehealth
Sessions are conducted through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms. Clients are responsible for ensuring they attend sessions from a private location and with a reliable internet connection. Queer Therapy NYC is not liable for technical disruptions that occur outside our platform’s control.
Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. By continuing to use our services or website, you agree to the updated terms.
